Pupil premium

Yes. Our tuition programmes are an eligible use of pupil premium funding. Small-group and 1:1 tuition is explicitly recognised by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) as a high-impact strategy, and schools regularly use pupil premium to commission programmes like ours. We’re happy to provide the documentation you need for your records and reporting.

Pupil premium

The EEF rates small-group tuition as having a moderate-to-high impact with strong evidence behind it. Our programmes are structured around exactly the principles the EEF recommends: targeted intervention, qualified teachers, clear assessment, and feedback loops that keep the school informed. We can discuss how to frame your provision within your school’s pupil premium strategy if that would be helpful.

We provide baseline assessments at the start of every programme and progress tracking throughout. Schools receive regular written updates and a summary report at the close of each programme. This gives you clear, documented evidence of attainment progress and pupil engagement — exactly what governors and Ofsted expect to see when reviewing how pupil premium has been spent.

All sessions are delivered by qualified, experienced UK primary classroom teachers. We don’t use teaching assistants or unqualified tutors. Our tutors have direct experience in UKS2 and with SATs preparation, so they understand the curriculum and assessment landscape your pupils are working within.

We work with you. You know your pupils best, and we’d expect you to identify the children who would benefit most based on your internal data and teacher knowledge. Our baseline assessments then help us pitch sessions at exactly the right level and track progress from a clear starting point. Many schools prioritise pupil premium-eligible children, but that’s entirely your decision to make.

Yes — all of our programmes are designed with your school in mind. We’ll discuss the year groups you want to target, the subjects you need, group sizes, timing, and any particular focus areas. The case study on this page is an example of what a programme looks like, but the specifics are always shaped around your context.

Sessions are delivered via video conferencing — pupils need a device with a camera, a stable internet connection, and somewhere quiet to work. There’s no software for your school to install or manage. We handle all the session setup. Many schools find after-school delivery works well, but we can discuss timing that suits your timetable and families.

Pricing depends on the programme length, group size, and number of pupils. We’ll give you a clear, itemised quote before you commit to anything. Our typical programmes run for 10 weeks, which gives enough time to see meaningful progress — but we’re happy to discuss what works for your school’s situation and budget cycle.
