Hi, I'm Lily!
I graduated from Brighton University with a degree in Applied Psychology and Criminology, before completing my PGCE with QTS in 2020. Since then, I’ve gained over five years of teaching experience across the primary age range, from EYFS to Year 6, in roles including KS1 class teacher, maths lead, and early reading lead. Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve developed a strong track record as a private tutor, supporting students from primary through to GCSE level in Maths and Psychology, as well as preparing learners for entrance exams and SATs assessments.
My background in psychology helps me to understand and support children as individuals, while my PGCE specialism in mathematics enables me to design bespoke teaching methods that build deep conceptual understanding. I’ve also enjoyed leading forest school sessions, which I believe play an important role in both academic progress and personal development.
At the heart of my teaching is the belief that learning should be engaging, enjoyable, and tailored to each student. I focus on building strong relationships, adapting my methods to suit different learning styles, and using informal assessment to track progress and revisit key ideas. By connecting lessons to real-world contexts, I aim to help every student not only achieve success but also see the value in what they are learning.
